Place Apart installs TopBrewer and TopJuicer in premium co-working hub in central London

Place Apart worked with design experts, SHW Design, when they designed The Gate, a premium Aparthotel in central London. Located on the doorstep of the City, and within walking distance to some of London’s most creative and vibrant areas, The Gate is an Aparthotel with a difference. As well as a range of luxury apartments, The Gate boasts a state-of-the-art gym, an outdoor terrace, a curated art programme and an exclusive Members’ Lounge.

The Members’ Lounge provides a socially distanced hub for guests to meet, relax and work in the co-working zone. With an array of guests to cater for, from long-term guests staying at The Gate for extended periods, to business professionals looking to use the space for a meeting or to catch up with some work, it was important to design a space that would suit the needs of everyone. Whether you want a stylish co-working space or a drink at the bar, thanks to the carefully considered design, the Members’ Lounge is a multifunctional space that can be easily transformed to meet the needs of the guest.

Self-service

First-class, self-service coffee experience

From when guests first arrive to the moment they check out, much of The Gate’s guest experience is self-service. The team at The Gate knew that their guests would expect their self-service coffee experience to be first-class, so after seeing TopBrewer in similar properties, they chose to install a TopBrewer Compact Series to provide barista-quality coffee to guests in the Members’ Lounge. The TopBrewer is fitted with ScanomatPAY, an integrated contactless payment solution which enables them to offer a convenient, sustainable and commercially viable coffee experience on-site which can be managed and monitored remotely on the cloud.

As well as a TopBrewer coffee machine, Place Apart have installed a TopJuicer, also controlled by app, to provide premium juice drinks and chilled still and sparkling water free of charge for members.

We offer a self-service experience from the moment the guest checks in, so we love being able to offer our guests self-service coffee and juice whilst they work or relax in the Members’ Lounge.

The TopBrewer Experience

TopBrewer provides a wide range of barista-style, bean-to-cup beverages from a sleek swan neck tap, with the machine itself discreetly housed under the counter to provide a clutter-free service area.

Staff and visitors make drinks to their exact requirements through the iPad set into the worktop or through the app on their phone.

Minimal footprint

Stylish, under-counter design with minimal footprint

Unlike traditional tabletop coffee machines, which are often bulky and unsightly, TopBrewer’s stylish design, with its minimal footprint, sleek swan neck tap and under-counter brew unit mechanics, meant it was the perfect addition to the space, providing a premium experience without compromising on drink quality or design aesthetics. Whilst TopBrewer has been designed to be beautiful to look at, it has always been imperative that it is super simple to use and maintain. 

 

With new guests arriving each day, how user-friendly a coffee machine is is an important consideration in a self-service hospitality venue. The Gate’s hospitality and facilities staff needed a coffee solution that wouldn’t take up valuable time to clean and maintain and, thanks in part to its quick and easy once-daily clean cycle, TopBrewer fit the bill perfectly.

We have received great feedback from guests about TopBrewer and TopJuicer. They’re fascinated the first time they use it and always want to go back to try more!
