3. Hospitality Experience

TopBrewer at Orangebox

We partnered with Orangebox to showcase our TopBrewer Pro commercial coffee machine, and the showroom was a hub of activity throughout the week, drawing designers, architects, and design enthusiasts eager to explore the latest in interior design trends. Our coffee and pastry offering became a popular spot for attendees to take a break, network, and recharge amidst the bustling atmosphere of CDW. The iced lattes were a big hit, providing a refreshing treat that complemented the creative energy of the event.

Our participation in Clerkenwell Design Week 2024 was not just about showcasing our coffee solutions but also about engaging with the vibrant design community. The interactions we had and the feedback we received were invaluable, reinforcing the importance of such gatherings in fostering innovation and collaboration within the design industry.

1. Sustainability

Sustainability takes centre stage:

  • Circular economy focus: The emphasis on a circular economy underscores a shift towards responsible consumption and production. By designing products with their entire lifecycle in mind, from creation to disposal, designers are minimising waste and environmental impact.
  • Lifecycle approach: Considering all stages of a product's lifecycle promotes environmentally preferable materials and responsible disposal. This holistic view aligns with sustainability goals and encourages more mindful consumption patterns.
  • Sustainable innovation: By turning waste into high-quality furniture, suppliers show commitment to reclaiming furniture at the end of its lifecycle and set a new standard for environmental integrity, reinforced by B-Corp certification.

2. Wellbeing

Building happiness - The importance of wellbeing in designing spaces:

  • Collaborative design for wellbeing: Involving various stakeholders ensures that spaces meet diverse needs, fostering a sense of community and belonging essential for wellbeing.
  • Biophilic elements and human comfort: Integrating natural elements and prioritising human comfort promote relaxation and mental health, contributing to a more conducive environment.
  • Consistency and reliability: Upholding high standards of comfort and service is crucial for building a positive reputation and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Bridging indoor and outdoor spaces and incorporating sustainable design: Mindful environments can reduce anxiety and reflect a commitment to future wellbeing and environmental responsibility.

3. Hospitality

The transportive power of hospitality design:

  • Multi-sensory experience: Engaging all senses creates immersive environments that leave a lasting impression on guests, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Customer-centric design: Prioritising the guest journey and ensuring consistent, reliable service builds trust, loyalty, and encourages repeat visits.
  • Consistency and reliability: Upholding high standards of comfort and service is crucial for building a positive reputation and fostering customer loyalty.

Clerkenwell Trends

These three trends collectively reflect a growing awareness of the interconnectedness between design, sustainability, wellbeing, and hospitality. As designers continue to prioritise these aspects, they contribute to creating more harmonious and impactful spaces that cater to both human needs and environmental stewardship.

As we reflect on CDW 2024, we are filled with inspiration and gratitude for being part of such an extraordinary event. The experiences and connections made during the week have left a lasting impression, and we are already looking forward to next year’s Clerkenwell Design Week. It is an event not to be missed by anyone passionate about design!
