Host, a global centre of professional hospitality

The edition of HostMilano that opens its doors on 23 October at Fieramilano Rho is one that no one involved in the professional hospitality and retail trades will want to miss out on. Over 2,000 exhibitors from 47 countries will be there (up 17% and 26% respectively on the previous edition), and in the five days of the event, spread over 14 halls (two more than in 2013) they will have a chance to present the most advanced technologies, the most innovative products, the most cutting-edge designs and the most attractive formats to visitors and buyers from all over the world.

For those five days, Host really will be the centre of attention for the world of professional hospitality, for the 135,000 visitors expected, for the 1,500 top buyers from 60 countries and for the hundreds of accredited journalists who will all be there. And with scores of events scheduled to take place – in exclusive venues like the Coffee District – Host is without any doubt a trendsetter for the world hospitality industry, not least of all because of the so-called “observatories” that will be keeping a close eye on proceedings through the specialist press, and because of the fact that it highlights the trends that will end up spreading all over the planet, as uncovered by the network of Host Ambassadors, 16 international top bloggers who are there to keep a finger on the pulse of what’s happening and identify the most promising developments.

The fair’s importance has been recognised by both visitors and exhibitors, who will be out in force representing the leading countries in the food service, ice cream, furnishing and contract sectors. All of them have stepped up their presence at Host: Germany (up 25%), France (up 27%), Spain (up 27%), Switzerland (up 29%), Netherlands (up 25%) and the UK (up 20%). Austria is up by as much as 50% and Portugal by a staggering 57%. The United States has stepped up its presence by 29%, thanks among other things to the fact that HostMilano has been officially recognised by the US Commercial Service, an exclusive selection of international events which the USA attends with and official stand.
